Hi Rocky,
I was wondering if you might be able to help me out. One of the vendors at the race, Tom Nye "Art Attack" pencil drawings. I paid him 100 bucks to draw my fairlane after his assistant took several pics of the car. I was supposed to recieve the drawing in 2 weeks max. I have attempted contact at least 10 times with no return phone call. Wondering if you had any additional contact info or if any one else had the same experience. Thanks,Brian

It's been over a month since the Roar and Smoke of over 200 cars and the Cheers of a Great crowd have left the Historic Runway of Eagle Field and many need to be noticed for thier efforts. Eagle Field is very Thank-full for the Volunteers that make the Eagle Field Runway Drags possible, from the groups that rebuilt our very own Grandstands, work the ground, place the barriers, position the Deliniators (those 100's of orange poles) & string Caution Tape, get Spectators & Racers thru the gate, parking, TECH inspectors, Register Racers, keep the staging Lanes flowing, Starting Line, managing the Car Show Area, and last but definitely not least (and I probably forgot someone) the Fire and Safety Crew. The Fire Crew was put to the test during our LIONS Race and quickly responded with both Firetrucks along with American Ambulance (who we always have on hand) to save a Racer and his car from burning to the ground. I knew when I first met Mark Jones and saw his 1942 Firetruck equipped with all the 21st century equipment that if we ever needed his services Mark and Crew could handle it. After saving the driver and car a spectator started a "Roll Over" collection (done in circle track racing) and the crowd took up a sizable collection to help pay for repairs to the car.....pretty Heartwarming to see! There are Business' that make the Eagle Field Experience more enjoyable for all who attend that we'd like to thank. Keith Blades of Fresno, owner of KBK Oils donates and applies his seemingly magical dust control material to the fine-particle clay soil and CONTROL an otherwise VERY Dusty situation during our events. Also major contributors to making the events happen are Dos Palos' Business' Chris Lopes Trucking, Manuel Barroso Spreading, SAIS Bearing/ Storm McCollough, the Dos Palos Lions Club, Thomas Climer for the awesome lighting, the Azevedo Brothers, and Mendota's Ramon's Tire & Auto. Then the Business' that make us look good, The Shirt Shak from Chowchilla, Bellairmotorsports.com, all the Fantastic Vendors and don't miss the event coverage in Hot Rod Deluxe and Ol' Skool Rodz magazines. When I started these events I had nothing but Drag Racing on my mind but after becoming FAST Friends with Joe Davis and spending time at Eagle Field I have really come to love the Historic Place and I want to thank YOU, the Spectators and Racers who participate in our events. Eagle Field is a non profit Museum and the proceeds from the Runway Drags are helping save Eagle Field. Eagle Field trained some of our Greatest Generation's Heroes and Joe has dedicated himself to saving the historic place, an expensive endeavor that YOU are helping to accomplish while we relive the Glory Days of Drag Racing doing it much like they did after the war with flamboyant flagman starters like our very own RJ Bailey and Earl Boyajian. The Fresno Dragways Reunion went off without a hitch with the LIONS Race (an Eagle Field event) needing some changes that I'll address, but I'll save that info for later. Mark your calender for October 6th for the 4th annual Hot Rod Gathering, see ya at the 'Field, Rocky
