Just got in from Eagle Field and we're EXCITED!! Cars are coming from all over and Eagle Field Drag Fans will want to have their Cameras ready as there will be a B-25 Fly By (more than 1 I'm told) @ 12PM. You will not get any closer to a Flying B-25 anywhere on Oct 6th unless your in it! Watch for OLD GLORY...................

We are just over a week away from the Eagle Field Hot Rod Gathering and it is looking like quite a SHOW. The Gate for Racers, Campers, Swappers and ETC. will be open starting Friday @ 12PM with Pre-Registration Packets, and Tickets and Racer Entry for those who didn't Pre-Register available at the Gate. The show Begins with the gate opening Saturday morning Oct 6th @ 7AM, Swap Meet Spaces are Free after Paid Admission and will hopefully offer Fans and Participants some GREAT Deals. Tech will be open shortly after the Gate opens giving everyone time to make the Drivers Meeting on the Starting Line @ 11:30 AM and be ready to go racing at 12PM. I want to remind Fans with a '73 or earlier ride that our Show and Shine is FREE after Paid admission and offers you preferred Parking in the Spectator area.
The 12PM Opening Ceremonies will include a Fly By by the B-25 Old Glory so keep your eyes in the Sky, you won't be able to get any closer to a Flying B-25 unless your in it! Racing will Hot and Heavy with Kleet Norris on hand to write an article for Hot Rod Deluxe so have your 64 and earlier Traditional Ride Ready.
If you didn't make Eagle Field in May then you probably haven't seen the improvements to control the Dust that our friends at KBK Oils of Fresno have done for us, Thank You Kieth and Dianne!
The Hot Rod Gathering has many "Crazy Cool" cars coming to participate, check out the eaglefielddrags.com "October 2012 Preview" page. A couple of Scheduled to Appear entries to peak your interest is Special Guest Jack Warrens Iron Mistress Willys, Robbie Davis' 2 original survivors, his Homeyers Willys & Anglia and you Flathead enthusiasts won't want to miss the sound of the Bing Speed Shop Flatty in the Homeyers Anglia that was purchased in 1962 for $5000. Pontiac fans will get to see an Injected 1/2 a V-8 powered Dragster. Paul and Vicki Sattler from New Zealand will be our guests with their Blown SB FE Dragster, and Stormy Byrd is trying hard to ASSALT the Historic Runway again. Then there's Elmer "Unsprung" Snyder, The Antique Doll, Tim McMaster and his Beautiful Back UP Nieces, Rat Poison may be on the grounds, I'm going for broke with my TWIN, and MUCH, MUCH More. "O" MY HEAVENS, I just experienced one of the best times at the Drags IN MY LIFE!!!! I mean Wheels Up, Burning Rubber, Flag Start, Run What Ya Brung BEST EVENT WE'VE HAD!! WE had over 10 Dragsters (not Counting the HAMB Diggers) with Paul "PINS" Sattler from NZ putting on a show I won't soon forget, 4 of them I had never seen before. The UFRA was putting the word out they ARE BACK, Gassers came out of the woodwork, and what about Tim McMasters 55 T-Bird owned by friend Todd Jolliff and his Beautiful Nieces who where inducted into the Back Up Girl ranks and did an awesome JOB!
I'm sorry I can't STOP with the exclation marks because I'm So Blessed to have so many Participants, Fans and Friends who DIG what we're doing. After many problems with my TWIN this year it ran flawlessly with my son Lee, friends Elmer Snyder, Tom Petry, Carl Lembke and myself hammering it and the TWIN had more for me on Sunday testing.
We had over 130 Cars with some local grudge racing that was the talk of the town, I'll say it again......Stockers, HOT RODS, Muscle Cars, Race Cars, Gassers, Altereds, MINI Bikes, Jr Dragsters, a Cheeta FC, and Dragsters from all over PLUS a Fly-Over by the B-25 Old Glory and a BA DC-? Plane that gave the crowd a SHOW that will be hard to duplicate A N Y W H E R E !!! Let me see did I miss anything.........YES, The volunteers ran the 130 cars like a CIRCLE TRACK RACE after some minor malfunctions by race cars early on, the racers in our NEW 64 & earlier TRADITIONAL Lane and the Dragster, Altereds, EX., and MINI BIKE Lane made thier 5 scheduled passes like clock work with the 2 GRUDGE Lane Racers getting as many as 10 Laps!
We had the NW Traditional Hitters come down from OREGON, some from RENO, the Lazaris Family made a 7 hour haul, and Joe Donnally hauled from New Mexico or Las Vegas with his Olds to our little RACE. Everyone was greated by FANTASTIC Wheather Conditions, the DUST was minimal and well managed thanks to KBK Oils of Fresno, our new (76 Western Star) Water truck and local Friend & Supporter Joe Diedrich with his Modified Water Truck that put down a light amount of water during the event. I dunno, maybe I'm just crazy but I THINK IMHO we have something special and we call it TRUstalgia Racing, Join Us in MAY and get "Eagle Field Approved"!!!! Rocky
